HomeWise Referrals, Inc., connects homeowners in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Montgomery County, Maryland with licensed, insured and complaint-free home improvement contractors for any job, from the smallest handyman repair to the largest whole-house renovation. Company owner, Debbie Farson, knows all too well the potential pitfalls of hiring and working with home improvement contractors. After many years of home ownership, and some disappointing home-improvement outcomes, she realized there must be a better way. Debbie’s background as a lawyer, homeowner, home renovation veteran, and mom make her particularly sensitive to the issues that can complicate home improvement for many homeowners. Debbie came to Unity wanting a new look, including a logo and a website that was easy to navigate and manage as a one-person-operated company. Debbie was adamant that the user should be able to come to the site and know, within 3 seconds, where they needed to go to get the info they came for.Though the site included Facebook and Twitter integration, Google Local Pages setup, search engine optimization (SEO), form building, database restructuring, blogging capabilities, and Mail Chimp integration with her current database of clients and contractors, Debbie was so impressed with the process that Unity steps clients through that she reevaluated her entire brand and marketing plan and is in the process of consulting with the Unity team about a marketing program and a probable name-change for next year.
